China vows tighter oversight, illegal land use crack down
The Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) vowed Monday to crack down on illegal land use including idling land hoarding and land speculation over property development in a bid to strengthen arable land protection and use land optimally and intensively.

China Eastern completes merger
China Eastern Airlines announced the conclusion of its merger with Shanghai Airlines Monday. After the merger, made via a share swap agreement, China Eastern will have operating assets of more than 150 billion yuan, and 331 large- and medium-sized planes.

The founder of a Chinese knockoff of Google is denying allegations of copyright infringement, and vowed Monday not to bow to pressure from the Internet search engine giant. The relatively new search engine, called Goojje, is growing in popularity.
