Xi'an to launch industrial zone

A scientific and technological industrial zone will be launched in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, according to the Cross-strait Trade and Economic Technological Conference held in Xi'an Thursday.

The Shaanxi Sanhuan Modern Scientific and Technological Industrial Zone will have an investment capital of 10.8 billion yuan from Taiwanese and Shaanxi Province companies. The zone will be built by the south bank of Wei River and on the north side of Longshou Plateau, covering an area of 1,600.8 square kilometers or 2,400 mu.

According to the conference, this industrial zone will include the Exhibition Area, Enterprise Zone, Leisure Area, Accommodation Area and Science & Education Area, with "energy and environmental conservation" as the principle of the zone. 

Investors include Shaanxi Sanhuan Industries Ltd., Jinsheng Industris Ltd. and Dongxi Industries Ltd. from Shaanxi Province and Taiwan Liang'an Industries Ltd. from Taiwan.

The date of commencing construction as well as the completion date were not disclosed at the conference.
