Vietnam's export turnover to Germany in the first four months this year saw a 13.3 percent decrease year-on-year to 571.89 million US dollars, according to the information center of Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade on Monday.
The decrease was attributed to the dwindling in export turnover of some Vietnam's items to this market, said the center.
Export turnover of vegetables and fruits was down 22.2 percent to 1.7 million US dollars, and that of wood products down 39.3 percent to 35.65 million US dollars.
However, some other Vietnam's goods shipped to this European country enjoy healthy export value. Notably, Vietnamese cashew witnessed a 46.2 percent increase year-on-year to 3.84 million US dollars. Garment went up 5.5 percent to 116.55 million US dollars, and seafoot up 7.11 percent to 60.45 million US dollars.
Currently, Germany is the biggest trade partner of Vietnam in the European Union with the two way trade in 2008 reached over 3 billion US dollars, said a report of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
