New NE coastal zone

The State Council approved plans Wednesday to develop the coastal economic belt in Liaoning Province in an effort to rejuvenate the traditional industrial center of Northeast China.

Shipbuilding, oil refining, advanced equipment manufacturing, raw materials, high-tech industries and farm produce processing will be the major industries in the new economic zone.

The zone comprises of Dalian, Jinzhou, Yingkou, Huludao and Dandong ports, linking more than 140 countries and regions.
