New Zealand sharemarket closes 0.16 percent higher

The New Zealand stock market closed 0.16 percent higher on Wednesday with the benchmark NZSX-50 up 4.36 points at 2,750.6 and a turnover of 119.79 million NZ dollars (75.29 million US dollars).

Top stock Telecom was up 10 cents at 2.80 NZ dollars, while No. 2 stock Contact Energy was down two cents at 5.63 NZ dollars. No. 3 stock Fletcher Building was unchanged at 6.41 NZ dollars.
