Stocks end higher in Mexico, lower in Argentina, Brazil

Latin America's three major stock markets ended mixed on Wednesday.

Mexico City's IPC stock index rose 0.47 percent to 23,468.98 points. A total of 223 million shares were traded with a value of about 346 million US dollars.

At the Buenos Aires stock market, the Merval index closed at 1,477.84 points, down 2.80 percent. The trade volume was 14.271 million dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America's biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 49,177 points, down 0.56 percent. The trade volume was 2.495 billion dollars.
