Indonesia's budget deficit next year was predicted at 1.5 to 1.8 of the gross domestic product ( GDP), the country's Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said here on Thursday.

The minister said that the deficit would not be an hurdle for the government as it still could raise funds through debt market.

On May 13, Sri Mulyani said that the government would issue a much-lower economic stimulus package next year as the country's economy was forecast to start recover.

The stimulus would be about 590 million US dollars, much lower than this year's figure of about 7.1 billion US dollars, Director General of the Finance Ministry Anny Ratmawati has said.
