Nikkei opens 0.27% higher

Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher Tuesday with the key Nikkei index up 0.27 percent.

At 9:15 am, the benchmark Nikkei 225 Average gained 28.12 points to 10,552.38.

The broader Topix index was up 2.19 points to 971.43.
