PC sales up in Q3
Sales of personal computers (PCs) in the Asia-Pacific region rose 17 percent from a year ago to 23.4 million units in the third quarter, an industry monitor said on Tuesday.
Major government contracts in China boosted the July-September sales.
BNP Paribas fined $1.1m
French bank BNP Paribas said on Tuesday it had been fined 100 million yen ($1.1 million) by the Japan Securities Dealers Association for inappropriate business practices.
The firm said the punishment would not affect its ability to conduct business, adding that it had taken steps to prevent future incidents.
Shell restarts in Nigeria
Royal Dutch Shell said on Tuesday it has resumed production at a gas plant in Nigeria.
"Soku gas plant resumed operations October 15 on completion of repairs of pipelines damaged during condensate theft," Shell's spokesman said.
